Railway: Kaduna–Abuja standard gauge service begins May

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has taken delivery of five standard gauge coaches to be deployed in May for the standard gauge operation between Kaduna and Abuja.

The items included three standard coaches with 80-passenger capacity, one executive coach with 56-passenger capacity and one parcel/guard van coach.

When the operation commenced, he said, people could work in Abuja and reside in Kaduna.

He said: “We have received from our contractor the coaches which we are going to use to run our standard gauge from Abuja to Kaduna. Latest by May, operation with the train will start on that corridor to commute people with higher degree of comfort.”
