Nigeria among lowest mobile banking users – Report

A study of five countries in Sub-Saharan Africa has revealed that only two per cent of banked Nigerians are using mobile money platform.

According to the new report, Financial Services for Everyone, from Ericsson ConsumerLab., Nigeria has the lowest percentage of bank customers that embraced mobil money in the list.

The report presented insights from a sample of 6,215 respondents aged 17 to 59, representing 150 million people across five countries of Angola, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, Nigeria, and Uganda.
According to the report, consumers found cash easy to use, but the study showed that they also recognised the risk of theft and loss.
