Kaduna Electric, which says it inherited 400,000 customers, begins enumeration to validate the figure. A statement issued by its spokesman, Abdulazeez Abdullahi, said the company had deployed its workers and youth corps members serving with the firm to its franchise areas- Kaduna, Zamfara, Sokoto and Kebbi states.
In Kaduna metropolis, 31 transformers and 71 units have been validated at Old Tudun Wada. Another 27 transformers with 68 units were identified at Rigasa II/Makarfi Road Feeder within the metropolis.
It said that the enumeration would capture existing customers, new customers, undeveloped and developed properties, and vacant houses.
The aim of the enumeration exercise, the statement said, was to have comprehensive and exact database of all customers on its network.
“We inherited a customer base of a little above 400,000 which is far from the true number of electricity users on our network,” it said. “This exercise will give us the correct figure of customers on our network.”
The statement solicited for the cooperation of customers to achieve the overall objective of the exercise.
