German company to establish 50Megawatts power plant in Imo

A German based company is to establish a multimillion naira 50 Megawatts power plant in Imo State with a view to building an industrial base in the state.

A team of investors led by Engr. Wilson Chukwunyere disclosed this when they visited the Deputy Governor of the state, Prince Eze Madumere, at the government house Owerri yesterday.

Engr Chukwunyere said that it has been his desire to contribute his quota towards building the state as he revealed that the first attempt was when they intended to establish motorcycle plant under the administration of Chief Sam Mbakwe of blessed memory, which was thwarted by the military incursion into politics.

He said :”We have come with partners who are willing to establish a 50 megawatts power plant and another 30 megawatt solar energy power plant”.

He solicited the assistance of the state government to provide them with enabling environment.

Adding his voice, the Business Development Manager of the said company, Mr. Volker Gutijahr expressed gratitude to the state government for welcoming them to the state, assured the state government that they will not disappoint if given the opportunity.
