This was disclosed by the supervising Director Dansa Tomato farm Kadawa, Alhaji Abdulkareem Kaita during a stakeholders meeting with farmers on the newly introduced Central Bank of Nigerian (CBN) direct loan scheme to farmers held at Hadejia Jama’are secretariat at Kura local government in Kano State. Kaita also revealed that the company has been completed and test ran early this year adding that due to shortage of tomatoes the company decided to suspend its operation to February when the farmers have all the necessary assistance to produce the product in full capacity and avoid possible fresh tomatoes shortages.

While addressing the farmers on the new CBN’s approach to loans, special adviser to CBN Governor on development finance Mr. Paul Ndokwa stated that CBN has noticed loopholes in its previous agricultural intervention and therefore decided to wade in and deal directly with the farmers along various farm produce’s value chain.
